Melinda Daniels Chapman, a Proverbs 31 woman, has peacefully passed away at the age of 74 in Statesville, NC. She was born on November 19, 1949, to the late Lary Finley and Betsy Ross Walker Daniels. Melinda led a fulfilling life as a homemaker, wife, Christian, and caregiver for her parents. Melinda was a graduate of Taylorsville High School and Gardner Webb University with an associate degree in business.

A woman of many talents and interests, Melinda found joy in various hobbies including gardening, collecting zebras and carousel items, flower arranging, and shopping. However, it was her involvement at East Taylorsville Baptist Church that truly defined her. Melinda’s proudest accomplishments included serving as the church decorator, clerk, overseeing hospitality, Kindergarten Sunday School Teacher, and being an integral part of the building and grounds committee as well as the Teen Crusaders. Melinda will leave a lasting legacy at East Taylorsville Baptist Church.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her infant daughter Lauren Ross Chapman, whom she was reunited with in glory.

Melinda will be dearly missed by her surviving family members and friends, including her beloved spouse Danny Chapman of 53 years.

In addition to her immediate family, Melinda leaves behind a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, in-laws, and cousins who were more like children to her, as well as brothers and sisters.
