Christy Renee Deal Hamby, age 51, beloved wife, mother, Lolly, and friend, passed unexpectedly at her home in Alexander County on Friday, May 24, 2024. She was known for her warm smile, and her innate ability to embrace everyone with open arms.

Christy was born on Saturday, March 17, 1973, in Alexander County to the late George Deal and Linda Ensley Shackleford. Christy’s life was one dedicated to love and family. Her career at Baker Furniture in customer service was just one aspect of her life; she found true joy in spending time with her loved ones. Christy’s passions were varied – from baking with her granddaughter Brynleigh to indulging in reading, decorating, swimming, crafting, planning events, and antique shopping. She had a zest for life that radiated in everything she did. Christy was a member of Fresh Oil Ministries of Hickory.

Christy is survived by her loving husband of 19 years Chris Hamby; her daughters Savanna Wilhem (Tyler) and Nikki Hamby (Corey); precious granddaughter Brynleigh Hamby; brothers Shane Williamson (Dana) and Terry Deal; as well as her fur baby Stormi, and two granddogs, Miley and Dolly. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish the memories they shared with Christy.

A visitation to honor Christy’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Alexander Funeral Service from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life at 6:00 pm in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel. Pastors Tammy and David Pettry will officiate. Inurnment will be with the family. In memory of Christy’s vibrant spirit and kind heart, let us come together to celebrate the beautiful life she lived.

The family will accept flowers.

In every smile shared and every warm embrace given, Christy’s legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace knowing she was deeply cherished and will be fondly remembered by many.
