Hal Luke Warren, age 95

What a wonderful day that Luke has once again joined the love of his life, Betty, after nine long years of being without her. He was born July 1, 1928, in Alexander County to Thad and Lillie Icenhour Warren. He passed away June 2, 2024, at the age of 95, and is survived by his daughter, Kathy Warren and spouse Dennis Rej of New York, two grandchildren, Summer and Warren Rej of New York, and a brother-in-law, Gary Childers of Charlotte, his wonderful and loving caregiver, Ruby Smyre of Stony Point who he adored, and his right hand man, Destry Bolick of Taylorsville that was always ready to help.

Luke spent his life working in the Beauty Business and loved every second of it. He was a sales consultant for M.L. Wildey & Co., Carolina Salon Service, Davidson Beauty Systems, and Luke Warren Beauty Supplies. He was a natural born salesman and put La Maur, Halliwell, Logics, Farouk, Matrix, Redken, Wella, L’Oreal, Kenra, Graham Webb, Alterna, and Paul Mitchell on the map! Every year he exceeded all outstanding sales performances, and it was never a surprise that he won Top Salesman and Consultant of the Year for the Southeast, and Awards and Tributes of Excellence in recognition of his achievements and sales volumes throughout the year. His love was his job, and his job was his hobby. He always gave the advice that “if you are lucky enough to have a job you love and enjoy, never leave it and never retire!”

Heaven just gained one of the hardest working and most extraordinary beauty consultants that ever existed. Hair has probably never looked more beautiful and gorgeous up in Heaven than it does today.

Luke Warren will lie-in-state at Alexander Funeral Service on Thursday, June 13, 2024, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Alexander Funeral Service on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow in the St. Johns Lutheran Church Cemetery.

The family will accept flowers, or donations can be made to St. Johns Roofing Fund, PO Box 82, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
