Justin Nicholas Ray, age 17, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in Caldwell County. He was born to Nicole Renee Simpson on Saturday, July 15, 2006, in Chatham County, Georgia. Justin was of the Christian faith. He attended Alexander Central High School and was in his third year of masonry. He enjoyed weightlifting, welding, fishing, bowling, PC games, and running.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Deborah Quinn.

Those left to cherish the memories of Justin include his mother, Nicole Renee Simpson, brothers, Mark Laws, Johnny Ray, sister, Kacey Laws, great-aunt, Linda Rivera (Samuel), and step-grandfather, Gene Quinn.

A visitation will be held Monday, March 4, 2024, at Alexander Funeral Service from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held Monday, March 4, 2024, at 7:00 pm. Rev. Chris Meade will officiate, and Justin’s siblings and friends will speak during the service. Inurnment will be with the family.

Dr. Jack “Jackie” St. Clair passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center the morning of February 27, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born to the late Arlie St. Clair and Rozella Burgess St. Clair on December 1, 1950. He had a long, illustrious career in both local and state government positions dedicated to bettering the lives of individuals with developmental, physical, and mental health disabilities. In retirement, he continued to volunteer his time in the service of helping and advocating for others with the Guardian Ad Litem Program, Alexander County Schools, the Mobile Café and soup kitchen with First United Methodist Church of Taylorsville. When he wasn’t helping others, he enjoyed beekeeping, gardening, watching the Wolfpack, and the outdoors. Jack loved and was loved by so many family and friends.

He is survived by his special friend, Dianne Daniels; his children, Jackie “Jay” St. Clair Jr. (girlfriend Dzenita Sukurica), Matt St. Clair (wife Amanda St. Clair), Lindsey St. Clair (husband Brandon Harris); grandsons, Anson St. Clair, Luca St. Clair, Mac St. Clair; brother, Lynn St. Clair (wife Dixie St. Clair); uncles, Curtis St. Clair, Max Burgess; aunts, Vernell Sharpe, Florence St. Clair, Vivia Cline, Casino Bentley, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, at First United Methodist Church of Taylorsville from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, at First United Methodist Church of Taylorsville at 3:00 pm. Pastor Joel Simpson will officiate. Inurnment will be with the family.
